5 Tips to Make Online Users Trust Your Website

For a website of any type to succeed, it is important to have decent volume of traffic. If you’re running an e-commerce site, then you have more reasons to gain trust of online users. You need to prove to them that your website is trustworthy and reliable.

In this article, I will share some tips on how to make online users trust your website and eventually convert them to loyal customers.

1- Make sure to have SSL certificate

First of all, you need to secure SSL certificate to show visitors that your website uses secure connection. Online users are very meticulous nowadays and they are very particular about safety and security of the website especially if they are going to fill out their personal details and billing details.

The padlock icon beside your URL in the address bar and the “https” are some indications that your website has SSL certificate. Most users look at this factor first and foremost.

2- List down all contact details where users can reach you

Next, you should make sure to have Contact Us page on your site wherein you will list down all your contact details including email address, phone number, office address and even social media accounts. Online users check this page most especially if the website is new. They make sure that they can contact the admin or owner of the site in case they encounter problem.

3- Offer high quality products with complete details

Well, of course, you should only offer high quality products and services. Do not deceive your customers by posting “photoshopped” images and over-the-top descriptions. Know these product photography guidelines to ensure high quality and convincing yet not deceiving images.

If you want to gain the trust of your customers, then you should be honest with the products that you offer. Make sure to include accurate descriptions and actual photos so they know what to expect.

4- Provide a guide on how to order on your site

It is also important to guide especially first time visitors on your site. You should walk them through the process like how to order, how to pay and when to expect delivery. As mentioned, online shoppers are meticulous and you should expect that they want to know all about these things before they make their first purchase.

5- Provide reliable customer service

Last but most importantly, you should provide reliable customer service. You should make it a point to respond to inquiries within 24-hour period to assure your customers that you care about them. It is also highly recommendable to have an automated Chat box feature (using a good chat bot) on your site so customers can easily ask questions and get a response in real time. This is indeed a plus point for you.

The Bottom Line

Running an online business is indeed a good source of income. However, you should realise that it takes a lot of work and efforts too. You should work hard to win the support and trust of your customers. Without them, you cannot succeed. Thus, it is important to follow the guidelines that we discussed here.
