Antigua and Barbuda’s tourism continues to bounce back

With its economy recovering post-COVID, Antigua and Barbuda’s tourism continues to bounce back. After recovering from the slow-down brought by COVID not only in the country but for most countries in the world, the twin-island nation saw a significant surge in visitors last year, especially from entrepreneurs looking to boost their presence within the region.

There are plenty of reasons for the rebound. For one, the country continues to attract luxury travelers and investors from key markets like the United States and Europe. It also opened new consulates in key countries such as Monaco as well as a recent visit from high-level delegations from Antigua and Barbuda to the UAE to deepen the bilateral and diplomatic ties between countries.

Its hotel and accommodation industry is not the only industry that is booming, but also several new luxury properties and projects are set to open in the coming years.

With all of these factors working in its favor, it’s no wonder that Antigua and Barbuda’s tourism is on the upswing.

With 30% growth last year, it’s clear that the rebound is just getting started, according to H.E Dr. Dario Item, Antigua and Barbuda’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain and permanent representative to the UNWTO.
