Consider Talent over Experience

It’s common for businesses to focus on hiring staff who have the most experience. It may seem logical, but it’s important to remember that the time worked within an industry doesn’t necessarily mean they’re right for your business. So, it’s important to focus on talent rather than experience. Look at specific work tasks they’ve completed that are similar to what you’re hiring for. You’ll also want to pay attention to their attitude and skillset as this can amount to so much more than experience.

Could You Benefit From an Interim Manager?

When you’re just starting out, you may not know much about the hiring process. Being responsible for hiring employees isn’t easy. Given how important it is to the business that you hire the right staff, it could be worth taking on an interim manager.

With interim management, they’ll be able to take over the hiring process for you. They’ll know what type of staff you’ll need to build up the business. As they’re only temporary, you won’t have to commit to taking on a full-time manager right now either.
